My client is looking for a strong Project Manager with great leadership skills, more specifically, someone who can step in to a project with “both feet” and run with it. I am looking for a “take charge” personality who can deal with senior level management as well as contractors. My client is an International Engineering Company’s Property Management division and they are currently seeking a qualified Project Manager to join their Vancouver team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, organization, implementation and control of all assigned projects as well as supervision of field project staff. Reporting to the Director of Project Delivery, the Project Manager will be accountable to the Director of Project Delivery for the monitoring, reporting and delivery of a program of projects within a region, or portfolio of buildings, which has been assigned to the Project Manager. The Project Manager will provide direction and mentoring to all project delivery personnel assigned to the program of projects for which the Project Manager has accountability. The Project Manager will Manage all aspects of assigned Repair, Capital or Tenant renovation projects life cycle using a PMI based process from initiation, planning, design, implementation and project close out In addition to Procurement of required consultants/ contractors using acceptable sourcing practices and Co-coordinating all consultants/ contractors and technical resources required to deliver the scope of work. The Project Manager will assist in the development and expansion of the consultant/contractor resource base within the region in which they have been assigned and ensure H & S and Quality Management requirements are met for projects delivered in this region. There will be technical oversight of projects delivered by project managers within the region through site visits and completion of the necessary reporting as well. The Project Manager will complete project close out activities related to quality management, customer service and financial close out of the projects in addition to managing project budgets and timelines to exceed Key Performance Indicator requirements. A Minimum of 10 years of related project management experience in a multi-discipline construction environment dealing with both contractors and consultants is required as well as a demonstrated leadership of multi-disciplinary project delivery teams and staff management. Experience in the administration of codes, legislative regulations, procurement policies and industry standards relating to the delivery of construction projects and construction law would be an asset in addition to any related project management credentials (PMI) and Architectural/Engineering, or Engineering Technology or related construction disciplines.
